HURRICANE RIDGE

Ryan Walsh is actually the person who got us into the fir, by first climbing this small (6'DBH) Western Red Cedar.  He had to fight his way through lots of small limbs, many of which were dead.  We didn't carry handsaws because it is important to leave the site as we found it, since it is in a park.  Also, hangars could pose a problem for safety on the ground.

This skinny cedar is over 200' tall.  It is only about 25' away from the fir.  He made a throwline toss that allowed us to install a jug line, but some abandoned fishing line and Murphy's Law combined to tangle that throwline good.
