The small Hemlock tree that the static line is dead-ended to in this shot is the same tree that is directly under me in a later photo.  The anchor knot has a round turn around the trunk, and the anchor knot has a carabiner clipped in to two parts of the rope.  This is in case there is any confusion about whether this knot should be untied.  A conscious effort to untie this knot would have to include unclipping this biner.  The idea is to get someone to think twice before releasing it without confirmation from the climbers above.
